Robin Galpin - Associate
Robin received an Honours Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Liverpool in 1982. After serving articles in Hexham, Northumberland, UK, he was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales on 1st November 1985. He worked in general practice, and was a partner in a small firm in Newcastle upon Tyne before emigrating to Australia with his wife and (then) 6 year old son and arriving on 1st January 2001.
Robin started working for Michael Paterson & Associates in July 2001 as a clerk pending completion of University studies to allow him to seek admission as a solicitor and barrister in WA. He was called to the Bar here in December 2002.
In his spare time, Robin likes to spend time with his wife and son making the most of the climate and lifestyle that they came here to enjoy. He also enjoys watching his son play his tee-ball games and practising his tennis and golf. Robin says that he realises that he needs more practice than his son does with the golf and has been trying to get on the golf course and driving range as much as possible, so that he can at least give someone in the office a competitive game.
When not doing that Robin keeps up with Newcastle United (the real one) on the Internet and on SBS when he can. He continues to try to point out that football is played with a round ball and that at least is something that the Poms have over the Aussies on the sporting field!
